Executive Agency for Upstream Oil and Gas (abbreviated: BP Migas) is an institution formed by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia on July 16, 2002 as a builder and contractor supervisors Cooperation Contract (KKKS) in the course of exploration, exploitation and marketing of oil & gas Indonesia and operated with the status of State Owned Legal Entity (Badan Hukum Milik Negara/BHMN)..
BPMIGAS was established under Law no. 22/2001 on Oil and Gas and Government Regulation no. 42/2002 on the Executive Agency for Upstream Oil and Gas. BPMIGAS based in Jakarta and its head office located in Gedung Wisma Mulia Jl. Gatot Subroto 42 Jakarta 12710. BPMIGAS supported by 4 representative offices located in Pekanbaru, Palembang, Balikpapan, and Surabaya.
